Meet Sarah

TX Lic #92311| supervised by Marie Gray LPC-S TX Lic #71945

I grew up fascinated by the human body, especially the brain.  I began my education with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Arkansas, longing to understand how tiny molecular interactions spark and allow for the thoughts and feelings we experience.  Without knowing it, I was already building my foundational philosophy as a therapist:  the interconnectedness of the mind and the body, of humans with each other, and of us and the natural world.

After graduation, I moved to Texas and began volunteering with foster youth through CASA of Travis County. From this experience, I realized I could be more impactful working with the entire human system. This led me to St. Edward’s University, where I completed a Masters of Arts in Counseling that led me to begin my career as a therapist.

I specialize in working with, life transitions, grief work,  LGBTQIA+ identity processing, and couples counseling.  I take a client-centered approach to therapy, incorporating the techniques from Emotion focused therapy, Narrative therapy, Ecotherapy, and IFS. I strive to align with each individual’s unique style, and, through a collaborative effort with curiosity and compassion, meet my client’s needs. I am radically inclusive of the LGBTQIA+ community and strive to create a safe, supportive environment to uncover the empowering truths you already hold.

As a therapist, I like to pay attention to the mind-body connection and help my clients increase their awareness of this connection. When life gets prickly, it can show up in ways that seem unrelated until connections become evident. Exploring the mind-body connection for deeper understanding of past and current experiences can allow for intuitive healing from a place of deepest self.

I also happily offer walk and talk therapy sessions. I find ‘walk-and-talk’ sessions beneficial for those working through trauma, clients who are less comfortable with traditional office settings, or those who want to add to their therapy sessions with physical movement (either in person or virtually).

When not in session, you’ll find me on a long run, reading, hiking, cooking with my husband, making messes with my kids, traveling, gardening, thinking up fabulous theme party ideas (with admittedly minimal execution), and sewing homemade Halloween costumes.
