As a kid, I remember a strong curiosity around the human experience. This lead to the desire to better understand relationships and people’s individual stories and backgrounds.

I eventually fostered this passion through the craft of storytelling through theatre arts. I followed this passion to Baylor University where I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance. I pursued these avenues professionally and still feel passionate about them today, but I always held a love for counseling. In the Summer of 2020, I felt called to go back to school. This lead me to my Masters in Counseling at Concordia University Irvine.

While theatre and counseling may seem to be polar opposites, I have discovered that both are centered around sincerely knowing one’s story and seeing a person’s humanity in the most authentic of ways.

As a therapist, I have an genuine and direct approach using Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, Existential Therapy, and Solution- Focused Therapy. I believe that every human has inherent worth and empowering clients to understand this and find it within themselves, in relation to the world around them, is a driving force in my work. I work to provide encouragement, individualized care, and helpful tools for sustainable growth and healing through a safe and collaborative environment.

During my free time, I am most likely hanging out with friends and family, playing fetch with my dog “Schmidt” (yes, named after Schmidt from “New Girl”), working out, reading, going to the movies with my husband—while making sure to get there 45 minutes early to catch all the previews— or at a baseball game.

I love a night in with my husband and pup and always look forward to Sundays at church and having our friends and family over after to watch football, although I do spend 90% of the time by the snack table.
