¡Hola, bienvenidos a mi rinconcito en Wild Cactus Therapy!

My journey to mental health starts in a small border town in Texas. I grew up in a bilingual world, raised in a home of Mexican immigrants. At an early age, I became fascinated with how our backgrounds can shape our behaviors and perceptions.

This led me to The University of Texas at Austin, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Afterward, I served as a high school college adviser in South Austin. With this experience, I recognized our mental health is rooted not just within us, but also in our community and through generations. Guided by this humbling experience, I returned to my alma mater and earned a Master’s in Educational Psychology specializing in counseling.

I’m a Latina bilingual therapist providing services in English and Spanish. My passion is to provide counseling and reduce mental health access barriers for people of diverse backgrounds, identities, and immigration statuses. I specialize in working with children, teens, adults, and parents looking to enhance their parent-child relationships.

My approach utilizes client-centered, cognitive behavior, solution-focused, and trauma-informed therapy as guides to appropriately address your needs. I have also received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Parent Behavior Training.

As a therapist, I create a non-judgemental and stigma-free space where you are heard, validated, and can be vulnerable. Although we come from different walks of life, I use empathy and active listening to understand the world through your lens. In our sessions, I am authentic and easygoing; I welcome using creative outlets, humor and encourage self-expression to reach within yourself. You are the author of your own life, and as your therapist, my commitment is to guide you through your journey of healing, self-growth, and self-empowerment.

Outside my work, I enjoy painting and playing my guitar or ukulele. I like to connect with nature by going on hikes or catching some scenic views in my weekly runs. You can also find me spending hours at a coffee shop or trying one of many Austinite food trucks.
